(ABM FN-Dow Jones) Rusland zal in maart 500.000 olie per dag minder produceren. Dit zei de Russische politicus Alexander Novak volgens persbureau Bloomberg.
De productieverlaging is het gevolg van het prijsplafond dat het Westen heeft gezet op Russische olie.
Na het nieuws schoot de olieprijs omhoog. Een vat WTI kost 2,5 procent meer op 80,04 dollar en een vat Brent wordt 2,6 procent duurder op 86,70 dollar.
Het Westen stelde begin deze maand een plafond van 100 dollar voor Russische diesel en 45 dollar voor laagwaardige producten zoals stookolie in. Sinds eind vorig jaar geldt al een prijsplafond van 60 dollar voor Russische ruwe olie.
