  • Newmont Mining trekt z’n dividend op tot 35 dollarcent per aandeel, +17%!

Newmont Mining Corp. (NYSE: NEM) says its board of directors has declared a quarterly dividend of 35 cents per common share, an increase of 17% over the 30-cent dividend paid in the third quarter 2011 and an increase of 133% over the fourth quarter. The 35-cent-per-share dividend is payable on Dec. 30 to holders of record at the close of business on Dec. 8. The dividend increase “demonstrates our commitment to returning capital to shareholders,” says Richard O’Brien, president and chief executive officer. The fourth-quarter 2011 dividend of 35 cents per share was based on Newmont’s third-quarter 2011 average realized gold price of $1,695 an ounce, Newmont says. The company says each quarterly dividend is based on Newmont’s average realized gold price for the preceding quarter. Newmont is scheduled to report third-quarter earnings on Friday.

  • Barrick Gold verhoogt z’n dividend tot 15 dollarcent per aandeel, +25%!

Barrick Gold Corp.’s (NYSE:ABX)(TSX:ABX) says its board of directors has authorized a quarterly dividend of 15 cents per share, a 25% increase from the previous dividend. “Barrick’s strong earnings and operating cash flows, combined with its positive outlook on the gold price, enables the company to continue to make high-return investments in its project pipeline and also increase its dividend,” the company says.The quarterly dividend is payable on Dec. 15 to shareholders of record at the close of business on Nov. 30. Barrick is the world’s largest gold-mining company with 26 operating mines and advanced-exploration and development projects across five continents. Barrick is scheduled to issue its third-quarter earnings report on Thursday.
